What is the difference between a casual and permanent booking?

Each family is expected to make bookings in advance, for the care sessions required. Bookings will only be accepted when families have completed the service's Enrolment Form in full.

  • Permanent (Routine) Bookings are for regular attendance at nominated sessions. They are booked in advance and are discounted as detailed on the Fees Schedule. Permanent Bookings must be paid for regardless of whether your child attends the booked session or not. Two weeks written notice must be provided to our Centre Director or via office@bppsoosh.org.au or cancel via Xplore Home App to change or cancel a permanent booking and avoid paying the session fee. If under 2 weeks notice you are liable to pay the equivalent of two weeks child care fees to the service.
  • Casual bookings are made on an ad-hoc basis. They carry a higher fee than the permanent booking and are subject to the cancellation fee.

What are the "extra fees" I could be charged for?

  • Annual Family Enrollment Fee: $40 - paid upon first booking for each calendar year
  • Late Collection Fee: $15/per 15 minutes or part thereof for a late fee pick up after 6:01 pm, this will increase with time.

    - Families who are continually late collecting their children, without a valid reason, may jeopardise their child's place at the service.

Fees must be paid within the stated due date, which can be found on the 'statement' section on 'Xplor'. Statements can be viewed at any time, in real-time on their Xplor account (Regulation 168).

Failure to pay unpaid fees may result in debt recovery action being taken and discontinuation of care for the child unless the family has initiated a repayment schedule for the unpaid fees with the Nominated Supervisor.

Something has come up and I need my child to go to Before School Care or After School Care, and I haven't booked them in. What should I do?

Not to worry - you can book your child in casually through your Xplore Home App account (please be aware bookings are subject to availability).

*Your child will need to be enrolled prior to attending our service or we will not be able accept their attendance.

In an emergency simply phone OOSH to arrange a booking on 0418 609 993. If your child is not aware of the arrangements it is the parent's responsibility to then ring the child's school to let them know that your child needs to attend ASC (children tend to stress if they are unaware).

I don't need my child to go to Before or After School Care today, what do I do?

You need to mark your child absent through your Xplore Home App account or contact us directly. You will still be required to pay the fee for the spot that you have reserved.

Absences

It is essential and the parent's responsibility to advise whether their child will be absent from the Centre on a day they are booked in and is not our responsibility to telephone to confirm a missing child's whereabouts (it is not sufficient to advise the school that your child will be absent).

You must mark your child absent via the Xplore App or in writing that your child will absent from BSC by 7am the or for ASC prior to 2:30pm. After this time, or in an emergency, a message must be left on the Centre's direct number.

Will I be charged for absent days?

Yes. As a general rule, we do not give "credits" for days not attended. Should your child not be attending, for example student camps, holidays etc, 2 weeks prior notice in writing is requested otherwise payment will continue for these days.

If your child is away from due to illness for 3 consecutive days and you are able to provide a doctors certificate within 7 days, please contact our centre on 0418 609 993 or office@bppsoosh.org.au to discuss a credit on your account.

What if my child forgets to go to After School Care?

We have a list of all children enrolled for the day, if we are missing one we will send staff to look for them.

Kindergarten: Your child's kindy class teacher has a weekly roll to remind each child. Initially, an OOSH staff member will wait outside the Kindy classrooms to collect the children and will walk them to OOSH.

Children in years above kindergarten will find their own way to OOSH and we conduct a roll-call immediately to account for all children. We will call you immediately if there is any problem.

Tip: It is a good idea to tie a ribbon to their bag to remind them on the days they should be attending.

What will my child be doing in Before School Care?

Your child will have the option to have a meal from our scheduled breakfast menu that day on arrival. Afterwards, they will have an assortment of indoor craft, board games, colouring and toys to play with until it is ready to go to school.

Kindergarten children: will be dropped off to their classrooms by OOSH staff.

What will my child be doing during the afternoon?

Your child will have a choice of many activities including indoor craft activities, board games, cooking, gardening, colouring in/painting, group games and outdoor playing, on the outdoor equipment, organised sporting games and activities ...just to name a few!

Should I pack some afternoon tea?

Not necessary - Food, menus and good nutrition are among our favourite subjects! We aim to provide healthy and inviting food that is prepared and presented in an appetising manner. We make a big deal of our catering, accounting for cultural diversity and dietary requirements.

Please notify us of dietary requirements prior to your child attending so they can also join in at eating times.

My child has dietary requirements, will they be catered to?

Of course, we cater to many dietary requirements. Please notify us before your child attends so they can also join-in at eating times. We also ask that you advise on any particular dishes that your child prefers to eat or doesn't i.e. vegan cheese, soy milk, gluten-free bread/pasta etc

During Vacation Care, what should my child bring and wear?

Everyday your child attends Vacation Care a drink bottle, hat, morning tea and lunch are essential.

*If your child has reaction to regular sunscreen we also advise they bring their own.

We advise the children always dress for the season and the occasion (theme of the day as advised in the vacation care program). Closed in shoes are always highly encouraged for comfort and safety as the children will be very active indoors and outdoors (especially on excursions as the children do a lot of walking) thongs are strongly not recommended.

We do not encourage children to bring wheels, unless requested for specific days during the vacation care - they are a safety concern, take extra supervision for staff and are also a tripping hazard when not in use.
